Welcome to the Saskatchewan Association of School Business Officials new and improved website! SASBO is the professional association of School Business Officials in Saskatchewan. Our purpose is to promote and assist members towards the efficient administration of school board management in Saskatchewan and to establish and maintain the highest possible standards of proficiency, skill and knowledge among school business officials at all levels. We work to cooperate with the Ministry of Education, Saskatchewan School Boards Association, Saskatchewan League of Educational Administrators, Directors and Superintendents and Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation.

The Saskatchewan Association of School Business Officials is a professional association which is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of school business management that will enhance the honour and dignity of the Association and employing Boards. As well, the Association is committed to working along with the other provincial educational partners to promote the best educational environment and quality education for our Saskatchewan children.

About SASBO

General objective as stated in SASBO Bylaws:

  • to promote and assist in maintaining the efficient administration of school government in Saskatchewan and to cooperate with Saskatchewan Learning, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association, the League of Educational Administrators, Directors and Superintendents, the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation and other educational stakeholders in all matters thereto pertaining;
  • to establish and maintain the highest possible standards of proficiency, skill and knowledge among members of the Association in all matters relating to the business or profession of school business officials;
  • to provide advice and assistance to and protection for members in their professional duties and relationships to secure for them satisfactory working conditions, adequate compensation for their services and fair retirement allowances.
 
 

 

The Senior School Business Officials Leadership Institute (SBO LEAD) is an initiative spearheaded by the Association of School Business Offiicals of Alberta (ASBOA), in partnership with Banff Executive Leadership (BEL), and is meant to build hands-on leadership capabilities for the new generation of senior leaders in public education K to 12.  For more information, please go to www.sbolead.ca.

Paul Baskey, first ever SASBO Executive Director set to retire December 31, 2009, after serving 7 years with the Association. 

Please welcome Phil Benson, retired Secretary-Treasurer, Horizon School Division, who was recently appointed to replace Baskey commencing January 1, 2010.
